Is there vacancy for housing at the Legion Manor?
Due to high demand, we unfortunately have no vacancies at this time for our Affordable Housing and Assisted Living suites. Once your application has been approved and processed, we will call you and put you on our wait list. For more information on current wait list times, please contact us directly 250-652-3261.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are permitted to visit Legion Manor as long as they are on leash or being monitored by their owner. Unfortunately residents are not permitted to have pets living with them.
Is there 24 hour staffing or medical care on site?
Because all suites at Legion Manor Victoria are independent living, twenty-four-hour medical staff or care is not available.
Private Pay Assisted Living and Subsidized Assisted Living residents are given alarm pendants (inclusive with rent), where emergency response is provided by our staff and Emergency First Responders twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week.
Where are the meals prepared?
Residents who reside in our Assisted Living suites have their lunch and dinner provided in a community dining room, inclusive of their monthly rent.
All meals are prepared on-site by our incredible Chef and his talented team. We take pride in using fresh, local ingredients prepared to exacting standards by our kitchen team. There are two main choices per meal with an option of a cold plate or a fruit plate.
Affordable Housing residents are welcome to order take out meals offered at reasonable rates. See a sample menu.
Do I have to belong to the Legion or be a Veteran to qualify?
We value the contribution our Veterans have made. Prioirty is given to Veterans and their spouses. We accept applications for housing from all individuals age 55 and up based on a first come first serve model.
Are there any income restrictions?
There is no income ceiling for our Assisted Living Suites. Our Independent Affordable suites have a ceiling of $3,500 gross income per month for an individual and $4500 for a couple.
Are tours available?
Legion Manor Victoria gladly offers tours for prospective residents of the assisted living building only. Please call to book an appointment so we can make sure this is the correct housing option for you. Our phone number is 250-652-3261.
How large are the suites?
All our suites have one bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and private bathroom. The average size of our suites ranges from 515 to 600 square feet.
Is there shopping nearby?
We are located close to the village of Saanichton, where there is a Thrifty's grocery store, medical clinics, pharmacies, financial institutions, restaurants and more. The Saanich Peninsula Hospital is close by, and the local transit stops at the top of our driveway.
We also offer a power scooter that residents can borrow at no charge, once they have completed a course and signed a waiver.
Is smoking permitted at Legion Manor Victoria?
Legion Manor is a non-smoking property. We ask anyone wanting to smoke or vape to kindly go off property to do so.
